Join us for the next Cause Mapping Root Cause Analysis Public Workshop ONLINE on November 10-12, 2026.

3-Day Public Root Cause Analysis Workshops | In person or online

Cause Mapping® Root Cause Analysis Training

Problems cost time, money and sometimes much more. Cause Mapping workshops from ThinkReliability® teach you a practical way to find out why they happen and how to prevent them from coming back.

You'll learn from real examples and peer discussions, and you'll leave with skills you can use right away. Every seat includes CEUs (2.0 for in-person workshop, 0.9 for online), access to the Attendee Resource Center and an hour of follow-up support after the workshop.

Who Should Attend

Anyone wanting to solve problems more effectively. There are no prerequisites, and attendees include executives and management, investigation-facilitation leads and frontline professionals from different disciplines across a range of industries.

  • Frontline Professionals: Frontline people are the first to see problems. Cause-and-effect thinking provides them with a systematic way to troubleshoot those problems, communicate the details to others and find better solutions.

  • Facilitation Leaders: Whether leading a team through a complete investigation or dissecting a problem on their own, people need a structured approach to collect, organize and document all the details more efficiently.

  • Leadership: Management is responsible for establishing a problem-solving culture. Leaders must know how to access the insight and ideas within the organization to improve work process and prevent problems.

Schedule

Day 1

Introduction to Cause Mapping

The first day covers the concepts, lessons and steps to consistently apply cause-and-effect thinking to different types of problems.

Day 2

Cause Mapping Facilitation

On the second day, attendees will apply what they’ve learned to different exercises and case studies. Each person will learn how to start with a simple analysis that can expand into as much detail as needed to thoroughly explain an issue.

Day 3

Cause Mapping Documentation

Day 3 teaches how to capture an investigation quickly and clearly. Attendees practice facilitating and documenting a complete investigation using the Cause Mapping template in Microsoft Excel.

Who you'll learn from

The approach you'll learn in our workshops comes straight from the work we do every day for our clients. ThinkReliability runs complex investigations across sectors like energy, manufacturing and healthcare, and you'll learn the same Cause Mapping approach our investigation team uses on incidents.

Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds: from MIT to the Permian Basin, and from the Navy's Nuclear Propulsion program to the plant floor. Some hold advanced degrees. Some came up through the trades. All of them spent their careers navigating real problems and the pressure that comes with them.

At a ThinkReliability workshop, you'll learn from people who know Cause Mapping inside and out. You'll learn to investigate the way we do.
